We arrived a bit early to enjoy their happy hour in the lounge first, and had excellent service from the two bartenders, as well as great cocktails and an outstanding appetizer of shrimp and octopus bruschetta truly some of the best octopus we have had, even in coastal cities. When it was time for dinner, we had a great waitress who greeted us with a celebratory glass of champagne and a sweet note signed by all the staff. As someone who loves a keepsake, I loved having this to take home and remember the night. We ordered the bread starter and it was delicious warm and so flavorful. My husband ordered the swordfish special that evening and it was divine. I had the filet and it was also wonderful. We shared the Brussels sprouts and they were some of the best we have ever had. We were too full for dessert, so unfortunately we skipped this portion, but I know it would’ve been outstanding. Overall, we were so pleased with our time at etch. and will be recommending it to all our friends looking for a nicer meal in downtown Nashville!
Our server, Jordan, was excellent. However, we had to wait ten minutes or longer to get our drinks after ordering each time. I had the scallops for $48. The plate only had 3 scallops, a size of a quarter each, and 1 was not seared as it should be. The rhubarb tart should be labeled as Strawberry with a hint of rhubarb. The goat cheese cheesecake was good. Overall, I would not recommend based on the value and the delays we experienced.
We dined at 5 on a Friday and it wasn't busy at first but full by the time we left. The staff was professional and attentive and different ones would check on us to see if we needed anything. There were three in our party and we had different cocktails and all were excellent. My drink was not on the menu but no problem to make it when I asked. We shared the brussel sprouts appetizer which was plenty and also delicious. Each of us had a different entree and everyone loved what they had. Desserts were also exceptional. Other than navigating Nashville traffic it was a great evening. We parked nearby because we were going to a concert after but they have valet parking. We will be going back for sure. One of our top dining out experiences.
Etch continues to provide one of the best dining experiences in Nashville! Two of our four had the vegetarian entree and while neither of us is a true vegetarian, the inventive ingredients and interesting tastes made it one of the best meals we have had in some time. Excellent service and creative food make this a go to for special occasions. The only negative is that we were seated by a large party of nearly 24 on two separate long tables which I would hope they would only allow in the private room at the front of the restaurant. They were professional but often stood to socialize and block the servers from getting easily to our table.
The place is nice but not 4 or 5 star. The food bead very good and well done. We had a great server but we had to wait for water to be filled and after coming back to my table the napkin was not folded. Men’s room needed attention and our bill arrived before we were done with our dinner very very poor) So over all nice place but not a 4 star restaurant
