Best BBQ in the Wilmington area. It 's not a high bar, but this place has great brisket (especially the moist), chicken and some excellent sides. The pork is good, but comparing it to other ENC pork BBQ, it comes up as good, not great. Then again, when you 're comparing it to Scott 's and Skylight, being just good is still better than most. It puts Jackson 's to shame. Dad and my wife agree that the ribs are the best around.

As a North Carolina native and a certified BBQ judge, I'm pretty sensitive about my pork. Had a hankering for some ribs, so I decided to stop by. 1/2 rack of ribs were reasonably priced along w/ collard greens and potato salad. The ribs were nice and tender. They weren't over cooked and they were smoked pretty good. They camew/o any sauce, but they had a variety of sauces on the table. That's where they lost me. The sauces were just okay. They were either too overwhelming or too weak. The collards were not seasoned, which was disappointing. The potato salad was yellow potato salad and was bland. I guess I expected the food coming out of the kitchen to be flavorful and not have the condiments do all of the work. That's not to say that I won't go back and this is only my opinion. I look forward to trying the pulled pork.

Easy parking area, reasonable well-managed menu pricing. They also serve excellent brisket, as well as very tasty baked beans! Portions are generous. The service was good, too! Stop by you can't go wrong.
