Melrose House Cafe - Nelson

To start, we had potatoes with two eggs, followed by the “bratmahlzeit,” which was hearty and paired wonderfully with creamy mushrooms. For dessert, we indulged in a delightfully rich lemon tart and an absolutely decadent chocolate cake. This place is an absolute must-visit!

The café provides a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere combined with excellent service. The food we ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, much like the lovely garden and the building itself. I would definitely return when I'm back in Nelson.

I would give this café a six-star rating if I could. We arrived on Saturday around noon, and the café was fully booked. However, a very nice lady (who might be the owner) found us a table in the lovely garden with the biggest smile. Everyone at the café was incredibly friendly, and the coffee along with the desserts (coffee pudding and custard slice) was fresh and absolutely delightful! I highly recommend this place, but be sure to book a table in advance. We will definitely be coming back!
