Nice little bar on the corner of the square. I got the Wolfinburger. It was very disappointing. Rubbery meat patty and fairly small. The fries were extra and barely edible. I saw they had a pizza oven, so maybe their pizza is better. Avoid the burgers though. Overpriced and not good.
Fabulous place, always go when in town! Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately not, long flight of stairs down to the cellar
This place was amazing today!! Just missed their lunch specials BUT the Italian sun and all American burger were AMAZING!! Definitely a cool place to hangout and can’t wait to come back and try the oven fire pizza sometime
Ok, Folks. We need to chat a bit about this wood fired pizza joint we were hipped onto in the awesome little town of Neosho, Missouri. My work travels took me to Neosho this week. Of course I asked the hotel desk attendant for a good local place to eat. She immediately said “Sam’s Cellar” in the old town square. A little while later we made our way to the old town square and found Sam’s. It is in a very old building on the corner dating back to the 1930’s. We opened the door and had to walk downstairs, hence “cellar.” Immediately the aroma of pizza with a hint of oak smoke filled our senses. The dimly lit Cellar sported a full service bar, booths and high top tables. Historic photos adorned the original stone walls which were well lit. We were greeted by Kyle, a friendly and bubbly server who seemed to genuinely enjoy her job at Sam’s. The menu had much to offer including wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads and much much more. We ordered the spinach/artichoke dip with pita chips and the meat lovers pizza. The spinach/artichoke dip was, quite simply, the absolute best I’ve ever had! The pita chips were toasted in the wood oven which really brought out a great flavor. We chose the meat lovers pizza which was 8 slices of wood fired deliciousness! The perfect amount of cheese and sauce. A sprinkle of crushed red pepper and it was perfect! NO ranch needed! Dessert was a hot brownie with vanilla ice cream. Perfectly sweet and warm. The perfect way to end this magnificent meal! Some of the best and brightest jewels are found in small and unassuming towns. Neosho certainly did not disappoint! If you find yourself traveling up or down I-49 just south of Joplin, head east into Neosho and try Sam’s Cellar. Ask for Kyle and tell her Chris from Ft Worth sent you!
