Akropolis Greek - Nesconset

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! It's one of my favorite Greek restaurants! The food is cooked to perfection and always fresh. My favorite dish is the chicken urganata. The portion sizes are generous, and the service is fantastic. The owner is very friendly. The sick peas and pita served when you sit down are absolutely delightful!

We’ve eaten here twice, and both times I've ended up curled up in a fetal position for hours! What’s in your gyros? I come from Astoria, which has plenty of gyro places, and I've never experienced stomach pain like this. Even my 2.5-year-old, who usually doesn’t fuss, has been gassy and crying. The gyro meat was thick and tough, the fries were hard and cold as if they’d been fried three times, and the chicken fingers were soggy and rubbery! I’m sorry, but I have to be honest.

Every time we place an order, something is missing. On our last visit, we ordered the lamb juices with potatoes, but the potatoes were left out. The time before that, we ordered the gyro plate, and the gyro meat was missing. This time, we ordered a large Greek salad with gyro meat, and once again, the gyro meat was not included. It's really hard to defend this restaurant. It's incredibly frustrating to drive all the way here or to have it delivered because you have a sick family member and can't go out, only to find that the order is consistently incorrect, especially when you're spending a significant amount of money each time.

Wouldn't go back. Burger was overcooked, did not dry any taste. Baked shells were terrible. Frozen cheap brand all muddy breadpots. The waiter was very nice.

Been getting food here for a long time. It has been awhile since I have been here. They did not disappoint. Had the Gyro with Fries. The server brought out some Pita bread and chick peas as an appetizer. The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly. Great place to dine. I highly, highly recommend Akropolis to everyone. Good to see Lucas again. Great guy. I wish there was more then 5 stars. See you guys next time I am in town.
