Numerous predecessors failed in the site before. The reason is probably the homemade cakes and cakes. A report in the Cologne city indicator praised the pastry, for example. But also the tapas and other small dishes should taste neat. Therefore also comes the name of the cafe tapas and cake: tapku. On Monday's rest day is open from morning to 7 p.m. The offer is therefore from breakfast, lunch table, cake time to evening bread. As we drove from Sülz to Mülheim with the KVB line 13, we stopped at the Nußbaumerstraße in Neuehrenfeld for lunch. Ambience From the stop the outside area was visible: corner house with red paint on the ground floor and tables on the street. Inside, the cafe seemed more like a nice snack. On the big counter, the cakes are in the rack. The actual guest room includes only a few tables that are simple and easy to maintain: sealed surface, large paper napkin as a base, a soda bottle with a tulip. Seats are stable and comfortable. Cutlery comes with food. On the windows are many green plants erected cleanliness Everything worked neatly well maintained. Sanitary level to reach. Very small space. But clean and all right. Service An der Theke was a young woman who also served. In the kitchen behind it worked a man – probably the boss; because on the homepage stands that the owner produces everything himself. The map(s) There is a small map and the week selection on the table; Cake is ordered after “sight”. The tasted food tapas plate tapku – four dishes from the menu (9,90 € Chorizo Salami – dates in the bacon – Queso Manchego – Black Tiger Shrimps – Dip bread Small tapas rolls with many different variations possible (fish, cheese, Serano ham, Chorizo Salami etc. , stood on the map and on the Internet. I was a bit disappointed by the “constitution”. But in taste there was no reason for a complaint. In the white dip green herbal notes were visible. Opticly it was a kind of Majonäse and also tasted like this: slightly greasy, slightly supple and powerful. The chorizo was slightly fried and additionally surrounded with a red paste. It tasted strong to paprika and was a little sharp. Also the three dates in the bacon were warm and had a neat taste. Some garlic brought sweet sharp aromas. The three slices of cheese were cheese with bark. The taste corresponded to the norm. The two shrimps were fried in olive oil with chili and garlic. That was also spicy. The four rectangular slices of bread were crucified and had grains in the dark flour. So as a result, it's tasty, but I can make it a bit more beautiful at home. Flame cake with fresh white asparagus and Serrano ham (9,90 € from the daily menu The dish was served on a large, thin, oval wooden board. The flame cake had already been precut in irregular large pieces. The dough was thin, crispy and tasty. The asparagus I had been cut and cooked well. The sections were slightly seasoned. The ham was generously distributed over the whole court. The cream fraiche had been processed yellowish in color. Maybe Eidotter was involved; it almost looked like a Hollandaise. Herb slices were also incorporated. Something powerful or too fat maybe in consistency. But I'm sure I'd try other flashcakes here. The actual strength of the house is, however, surely the cakes from their own production. Many products were filled with nuts. They looked delicious. But there were also at least three cakes without nuts. Cheese cream cake – 3,40 € The dough of the soil was probably a bisquit layer. Very easy and easy. Then followed the cheese cream filling. She was heavenly creamy and airy. Light citrus flavors rounded off the taste. At the top was a thin dough cover, which was covered over and over with fine powder sugar. The piece was quite large – otherwise I would have tasted the chocolate cakes with three kinds without flour. Grape variety with strawberry and rhubarb filling – 3,40 € This piece was also very large (the cake was probably only divided into eight pieces. This dough was also loose and airy. The filling of strawberries and rhubarbs had been marinated and very juicy. The cream was also not so powerful. Just delicious. Drinks Gerolsteiner Sprudel 1,00 l 5,40 € Espresso 2,00 € Cappuccino 2,80 € The coffee was strong and not too hot. The mixed drink had a very creamy milk cream crown on top – with a heart of cocoa. There was also a baked heart made of light grape vinegar with the inscription Tapku. Price performance ratio The cake pieces are really big to the extents and delicious in taste; also the lunch table is properly calculated. Conclusion 3 – if it results (at Essen 4 – happy again (at coffee and cakes (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 14.05.2019 – at midday – 2 people My enjoyable experiences are also at [here link]
