I went for the hadn pasta, which was quite original both in taste a bit reminded of poppy in look and granular texture) and presentation, but I found the taste a bit bland. in all fairness, I asked without paging that it should be paired and they would not have given a salty, hearty kick in the otherwise somewhat neutrally tasting pasta. the prices are decent, the hadn noodles were just under 10 eur) and the mixed byalates were also better than expected. the menu is rather small but with predominantly regional cuisine. would recommend and return if in the opposite. I was intrigued by the bookwheat cake, but was too full to try. next time!
Our hotel recommended this restaurant as it was close by. Service was fantastic and meals were delicious. Great value.
We chose to have lunch at Hartl prior to a visit to nearby Museum Liaunig upon recommendation of a family friend. She warned us that the interior was nothing to write home about, but the weather was nice anyway and we got a nice table in the garden with view of the church. Service was friendly and food arrived rather quickly. Since the regional speciality is everything with buckwheat ("Hadn" in Carinthian dialect), both my mother and I tried some Hadn specials - her salad with fried Hadn patties was very tasty even though she found that some kind of sauce would not have been a bad idea. I went for the Hadn pasta, which was quite original both in flavour (a bit reminiscent of poppyseed in look and grainy texture) and presentation, but I found the taste a bit bland. In all fairness, I requested it without the "Grammeln" that it should be paired with and they no doubt would have added a salty, savoury kick to the otherwise somewhat neutral tasting pasta. Prices are decent (the Hadn-Nudeln were just under 10 EUR) and the mixed side salads were better than expected, too. The menu is rather small, but consistant with mainly regional cuisine. Would recommend and return when in the area. I was intrigued by the buckwheat cake, but was too full to try it. Next time!
