Cafe Royal - New Castle

This coffee shop seems to have had a poor reputation in recent years. It had the vibe of a large camp, and the customer service felt lacking. However, at the end of 2021 and into 2022, a new owner took over the establishment. When I first visited under the new management, I was warmly welcomed, which really made a difference. The coffee and pastry menus remain quite similar to before. As someone with celiac disease, I am still on the lookout for a gluten-free menu. Unfortunately, there were no gluten-free pastries available today. My wife noted that the pastries should definitely be homemade. Overall, the coffee shop is improving, and we plan to return and bring others along. I’ll add the fifth star once the gluten-free options are enhanced.

Carl, Angie, and the entire staff truly excel in customer service. Patience is key—delicious food and excellent service do require some time, but both are definitely worth the wait. And don't forget to bring your dog! They’ll love it; there are pup cups in the drive-thru, and the staff even remembers your dog's name!

This is a fantastic spot for coffee and food. The owner is a wonderful person and very engaging to talk to.

Good place for a good morning coffee and the bagel are great

We had the pulled pork and the chicken ceasar wrap. The mac n cheese was delicious! The sweet tea was made to perfection. Nice, quiet atmosphere. You almost forget your in New Castle! We sat outside, and it was so relaxing!
