The beef salad was a delightful mix of ingredients that created a uniquely surprising experience. Considering the quality of the food, the prices are incredibly reasonable for the Big Apple. This spot is ideal for a cozy meal if you don't feel like cooking at home or want to impress someone visiting the city. One last tip: Don't miss out on the pig belly shell. I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard excellent reviews!
Jia offers a level of home cooking that is enhanced with wonderfully creative dishes, all executed to perfection! The pig belly was truly outstanding. The salmon was cooked just right—neither overcooked nor undercooked. The Brussels sprouts with cranberries were exquisite. The pulled pork sandwich paired wonderfully with the sweet potatoes. The bread pudding is likely one of the best we've ever had, and the pumpkin panna cotta was the perfect way to end our seasonal fall meal. The portion sizes were just right, and there is a fantastic selection of beer and wine. More than just a small restaurant in the Lower East Side, the owner makes all guests feel like family coming home.
My husband and I ordered the pig belly and the lamb meat, and both dishes were excellent with fantastic flavors. Christine, the owner, was incredibly nice and friendly. The restaurant doesn't have many tables, but it's very comfortable. We can't wait to return and try more items from the menu! It's truly comfort food at its best!
Her garlic butterfries are amazing, I can't recommend them enough. I'm just on vacation from San Francisco and this is the first restaurant I tried after the landing. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. came for lunch and liked it so much that I had delivered it for dinner. I would also recommend Thai beef salad.
We stumbled in there randomly with younger kids. The place is cozy and inviting. The owner is genuinely nice (made the kids fresh lemonade when she ran out of Sprite). The food was as she describes in menu: delicious comfort food with different cultures and tastes blended. Think Italian and SE Asia. Great spot.
