The Square One Pub found in a general search for the area to see what else was around the Peddlers Village/New Hope area. Family was in town and the five of us landed here and were not disappointed. Four apps for the table (Calamari, Garnelentempura, Potsticker and roasted pimple) were all prepared professionally and hot from the kitchen. Other choices include salmon, roast beef sandwich, red yellow beet salad, chicken finger fries (Grandedaughter), and another entree that I cannot remember. Everything was excellent, as was the cocktails we enjoyed. arrived on a Friday at 5:20 am and the bar / dining room was busy. We sat in the quiet room they call the library. It was perfect. I have to go back.
The meal we shared tonight was great. We've been here for desserts and cocktails and loved it. We shared the wedge salad with really fresh Bleu cheese dress and the hot roast and cheese sandwich with frits. The sandwich came with real horseradish and not just sauce and it was great. The drinks were a nice Cosmo for my Peggy and a Sam Adams design for me. The cocktails are carefully prepared and served. The Coup de Grace was the apple crisp dessert that came with a side vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. OMG. Ten bells for the dessert. We have to come back soon. The service is warm and friendly. Kudos to everyone.
Interesting pulsating friendly local pub . A mix of different types of people all have fun and chat . While it is a fun place for meeting new people, or with old friends it is a little expensive .. the food was tasteful many food choices, appetizers, and the drinks kept flowing. Meet a new friend!
It seems like this is a place to go for the older locals. In our hour there from 4-5pm on a beautiful Saturday, it was mostly empty. But the folks who were there all seemed to know each other and average age was in their 60s. As far as food, I had a turkey burger that tasted strange. Couldn't put my finger on it, then realized it was probably freezer burnt. If it wasn't, then they have to find a new recipe. The fries were pretty good though, and our server was a good dude. My wife's roast beef sandwich was mostly bread with a small side of beef. Oh well. In general, this is a tired place that needs new energy.
