Great spot, decent food, great prices, nice area, right on the mouth of the Thames river, overlooking a marina and EB Groton across the river. Nice atmosphere. Fast.
I've been a few times and the food is decent for fried food, but the hotdogs and fries leave something to be desired. It's simple to stop by the shanty after a day on the boat, but it's fairly slow for the season. I believe it's a seasonal restaurant and if that's the case, it's totally not worth going unless you're looking for slow fast food style food. The last time we were there we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come take our order at the window. Then, we wanted ice cream, waited another 10 and no one ever came to take our order at the ice cream window. Foods decent, service is lacking. I'll probably still go after a day on the boat, but I McDonald's is more reliable.
It's really not that special and BYOB. Fries were really not that good. I ordered some calamari which was really not special. It's basically a fried food off the water place, However, you can sit outside right off the water, which is nice. Looks like there are a couple of real restaurants next door- but I've never been to them
