Thai Sawasdee - New London

This is my favorite place for Thai food in Connecticut. I've never had a negative experience here. The chefs are reliable and always willing to accommodate special requests. The dimly lit dining area creates a lovely atmosphere for dining in. You'll also have an excellent experience with takeout. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tonight, I placed an online order for Four Seasons with extra chicken and Red Curry with extra chicken. It's important to mention that while the curry comes with a complimentary choice of chicken, I opted for extra at an added cost. However, the Four Seasons charges an extra dollar for chicken as a regular option, plus three dollars for the add-on. Since we chose both, I expected there to be plenty of chicken. When we opened the bag, we immediately noticed that one of the rice containers was missing. The next thing we observed was the size difference in the takeout containers. My curry was large, but the amount of chicken in the Four Seasons was barely half the expected portion. Instead of the creamy peanut sauce we were used to, it was more like a watery broth. My boyfriend took the meal back to the restaurant, where the waitress handled the situation graciously. He overheard her explaining to the chefs that it wasn’t supposed to be served as a soup. When the meal was returned, the broth had been thickened into sauce, but it was still a meager amount. He also highlighted the chicken portion again, noting that the serving size was so small it resembled a lunch special, and made no sense compared to the curry. I ordered through GrubHub and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The drunken noodles and pad thai were both cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had tofu in his noodles, which was crispy and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place!

As a long-time customer, I am deeply saddened that the quality of service has dropped in recent months. The staff refuses to honor lunch prices during lunch hours. During dinner hours, prices on menu and prices charged are different. After years ofloyal patronage, the lack of reciprocity leaves us feeling bitter. Hopefully the other local Thai restaurants will appreciateour business more. We called in to order before 3:00 pm, but the kitchen staff had already decided lunch was over.
