All were good sized portions and in spite of the busyness of the day, our food arrived quickly. My chicken was warm, juicy and flavourful, the greens had onions, red peppers, and a bit of a bite to them. The dressing (served on the side) was a good blend with maple and helped cut the bite of the greens. Melody our waitress, was a treasure. She’s been there since 2014 and knows how to hustle and get you what you need quickly. Sunday brunch crowd isn’t an easy group, but she handled us all with grace and a big smile. We were too full for dessert, but they look amazing! Lots of choices and big portions….next time.
My mom chose this restaurant for Mother's Day. She ordered the senior turkey dinner and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Mother's Day special, which was poached salmon with dill sauce, roasted potatoes, and the vegetable of the day. The special came with a choice of tea, coffee, or soda, and dessert for $17.99. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my meal. The roasted potato was small, dry, and tasteless, and the salmon seemed to be a pre-packaged filet that can be found at a grocery store for much less than what I paid. The vegetable of the day was overcooked carrots. The dessert options were a small piece of blueberry or cherry cheesecake, which seemed to be store-bought and not homemade. The only positives were that the waitress was friendly, and my mom enjoyed her turkey dinner and coconut cream pie. If I were to return (and only if someone else is paying), I would likely opt for the senior turkey dinner to ensure I leave satisfied. Overall, it was a disappointing Mother's Day meal.
Everything was wonderful, very nice and funny staff! Food came out faster than usain bolt in the 100metre dash and it was perfect. Definitely the fastest eat in location in the county.
I stopped in to the Irving Big Stop on Saturday! I had the roast turkey dinner! The potatoes were dry and warm, while the turkey also dry! The dressing (stuffing) was good, but it too was warm! The portions size was good, big portions! The coffee was good,
Very impressed. We have eaten out a few times since the lock-down ended and restaurants have re-opened. This was the first one that put a notice on the table saying the table had been sanitized between meals and it was very clean. They do not have a second exit and have to work within their space issues. But they did have arrows on the floor and tables well spaced. The waitress was careful to serve from the side. The menu is reduced so they can do it properly. Our meals all arrived in a reasonable time. The food was hot. The fries are McCain style from a bag and into an oven. We enjoyed our meals and felt safe. They were cleaning the washrooms although they could limit how many can go. There were too many people in the washrooms. Some places manage that a bit better. But impressed that they are trying hard.
