I wanted to make something romantic for the woman, so I've been meeting up for dinner in boucherie. we stayed in the French quarter and drove the cable car to their place and had a very nice romantic dinner. the food was excellent as the service. the place is very small. a small dining room in a small house and two tables on the veranda and a small terrace. and evening trip to st. charles with Christmas lights and the houses and houses and a very romantic evening meal was excellent. make them a reservation first, as we had no one and they tried to make a place for us. but they did it and it was very nice.
Every single visit in nola. all about their meal will be amazing, friendly and beautiful served in a warm and welcoming room.
While running an errand in the area, we wanted to get dinner somewhere new. I googled duck in a restaurant search and reviews for Boucherie came right up, and with good reason. The duck was AMAZING. Everything we had was delicious and our server so nice. Highly recommend a visit to this unassuming and adorable restaurant.
This review is specific to their catering. The restaurant is 5 stars in its own right (how its 4.5 at the time of me writing this is a travesty in its own right but I digress). My wife and I decided to go with Boucherie for both food and beverage as a catering service for our wedding in New Orleans. We're both local to Nola and had our ideas in mind of a few spots that had potential for us however once we sat down at Boucherie for the tasting and had Chef Nathanial walk us through what he had prepared that night and what he could do seasonally with different produce the night of our event we were simply blown away so we decided to move forward with them. We were having more of a party than a traditional wedding so the food was passed hors d'oeuvres only, but Boucherie ended up doing a food truck-type of set up for our guests to both walk up to and for their staff to carry items around. Everything was excellent and delicious. The oysters were incredible. The small plates they did were incredible. Every guest we spoke with brought up how good the food was. Beyond all of that, every single person in their staff were friendly, professional, and really fun. The bartenders were social and engaging with everyone. The cherry on top of it all was Sara, their contact for catering, who was incredibly easy to work with for everything and helped make the food and beverage portion of our event as stress-free and seamless as possible.
Came for the restaurant week special. The Lisbon by Noon drink was excellent. Reminiscent of a sangria, its light and citrus and slightly sweet. Fabulous for a summer cocktail. The boudin balls with garlic aioli were actually very pleasant. I'm not a fan of boudin, but those were very tasty. The shrimp and grit cake was excellent. Highly recommend. The brisket and garlic parmesean fries I was very excited about. However, it was disappointing. The meat was very tender but not seasoned well. (too smoky) the fries were just fries and frankly a little limp. The Krispie Kreme bread pudding was wonderfully redeeming. Overall, it was a good visit. But I would avoid the brisket.
