Café Du Monde Riverwalk - New Orleans

I didn't understand the hype surrounding this place. The coffee was underwhelming, and the sweet "beignets" were nothing special either. I expected more from a coffee shop with such high ratings.

The Cafe Du Monde Riverwalk is situated right in the heart of the Riverwalk Outlet Mall. While the beignets here may not quite match the originals at the Decatur location, this spot definitely outperforms it in terms of shorter lines and convenience. Most diners likely won't notice a significant difference between the two. I was able to get in line and check out in under five minutes, which meant I could soon indulge in warm, powdered sugar-covered fried treats. If you're looking to avoid the wait at the Decatur Street location, this is a fantastic alternative to consider.

If you're in New Orleans, visiting for the iconic beignets and coffee is a must. Make sure to arrive early, as it tends to get crowded later in the day. If you don't end up with powdered sugar all over yourself after enjoying one of those famous beignets, then you're definitely not doing it right! I highly recommend it.

I was told this was a must-try spot for beignets, well I was not impressed. I have had much better during my New Orleans stay. These were big, hallowed inside, and kinda tough. Even the mound of powdered sugar couldn 't save them. Try a local, non-commercialized spot for better beignets.

There is nothing like the experience of the original location, although this one is conveniently located at the Riverwalk. It feels more like the fast food cafeteria version. The beignets were a bit dense in the middle but they had souvenir cups that was a nice touch
