The food was good, but the staff was the highlight. I ordered the sautéed shrimp po'boy and was impressed by how the lightly pickled carrots complemented the well-seasoned shrimp. My wife tried the roasted cauliflower po'boy and loved it, even though it wasn't her initial choice. Despite having allergies that she didn't mention when ordering, the staff went above and beyond to ensure she had a safe and enjoyable meal. They checked on us regularly, cleaned the cooking area, and prepared a new dish for her. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire experience.
This Po Boy restaurant is anything but typical! With plenty of seating indoors, it's a great escape from the noisy streets. They offer a variety of vegetarian options, making it a great choice for all diners. We tried the Seared Shrimp ($14) and were impressed by the fantastic flavor and generous portion size. The pickled veggies added a delicious crunch to the dish. The Pork Belly ($13) was a hit with its melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and flavorful ginger/garlic glaze. We loved it so much that we ordered it again! The Unsweetened tea ($2) provided a nice contrast to the rich pork belly. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town!
The menu here has so many good options, we regretted that we could only try two. Finally settled on trying the pork belly po'boy and the seared shrimp po'boy. Both were excellent with a slight edge going to the seared shrimp. The cookie was fine, but ultimately nothing special especially in a city like NOLA where you can't throw a stone without hitting at least two great bakeries. The inside is small, but comfortable. There's no table service, you just order at the counterand they give you a number so they can bring your food to the table. There was a line out the door to get in and order, and they did a great job keeping up with demand. It's clearly a place that knows how to keep up with the business ofpeople wanting their great food.
I was told this place is not a traditional Po boy place, but I really wanted a po-boy anyway so I gave it a try. It was absolutely delicious! The sandwich was the right amount of crunchy and moist and the portions matched the price. If you're only in New Orleans for a little bit of time, make this one of your stops.
