Landry's Seafood House - New Orleans

We had dinner at this restaurant one night and also stopped by the bar on another night while waiting for our friends and a carriage ride reservation. It's clear that this place relies solely on its prime location; the management is lacking and the servers lack care and personality. I would recommend going across the street to the Corner Oyster House; the service, food, and drinks there are all top-notch. The only redeeming quality of Landry's is the food. Both seafood dishes we tried were well-seasoned and the sides were delicious. However, the service was subpar both during dinner and at the bar. Our dinner server seemed inexperienced and lacked enthusiasm, never smiling or showing any personality. At the bar on a Sunday night, I was the only customer. The bartender took my order but then got into a lengthy argument with a server about a wine order from the upstairs dining area, completely ignoring me and not apologizing for the delay. Eventually, when he remembered to serve me, he forgot my order and had to ask again. My wife's Bailey's and coffee cream was served ice cold without whipped cream. When she sent it back, they microwaved it in the same styrofoam cup without adding the cream. Our friends also tried to order drinks at the bar before our carriage ride but were ignored for 10 minutes while the bartender only tended to waitress orders. They left without getting any drinks.

I recently dined at Landry's and had a wonderful meal! Our server, Jean, was excellent. She was very informed and took the time to provide us with recommendations and details about the drinks and food options. I highly recommend trying the Redfish Hemingway and Shrimp Alfredo - they were delicious. The restaurant also offered a unique take on the Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule cocktails that were very enjoyable.

The gumbo, oysters, and alligator were delicious. The redfish was also excellent.

The meal was excellent, the service from the waitstaff was amazing, and everything was served very quickly!

I went to this restaurant with friends to enjoy oysters, appetizers, and drinks. The garlic bread is a must-try, it was very delicious! The seafood medley was very good, although the portion could have been larger. The oysters were large and fresh. Our server, Jamie, was fantastic! She provided excellent service and the atmosphere was great. Being a local, I will definitely be returning with friends.
