We were going to Katie's Restaurant across the street, but it was packed so we wanted to try this place. Just go somewhere else. Roach on the floor and took 40 minutes for a pizza that was greasy. The hamburger steak had a bad taste. My chicken parmesean was just okay. The service was somewhat decent, but not being told you are charged per refill with kids is ridiculous. You get a glass full of ice with a small amount of coke, so we spent 30 bucks just to drink soft drinks at a restaurant. Never again!
Great location I just went to dine at Liuzza's with some friends in the mid-city neighborhood of New Orleans, and it did not dissapoint. While my buddies ordered pizza, sausage rolls, and jambalaya, I ate a roast beef sandwich and some onion rings. The cuisine was excellent. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert, which was excellent. We went to the bar area for some frosted beers after dinner; they were wonderful. The staff was really welcoming. Also very friendly were the customers. If you're in the neighborhood, it's well worth a visit.
A hidden gem that you won't regret visiting, in fact.... not visiting means you missed out! Full bar, excellent food, laid back atmosphere, good people who are friendly to all. If you can, go during the week before 4:30, and sit at the bar with Morgan. Her personality is infectious and you'll feel like family from the start!
Luizza's Restaurant exceeded my expectations after watching it featured on an episode of True South on the SEC network. This quaint spot exudes charm and is not overrun with tourists. The staff was warm and welcoming, providing classic southern hospitality that made me feel like part of the family. The food was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! On a Friday, I decided to go meatless and ordered the fried shrimp and catfish, accompanied by an 18oz ice cold beer. I will definitely be returning to Luizza's and it will remain a top choice for me during future trips to NOLA.
