Food came out hot and tasty ? the BBQ shrimp was a little salty expected with the recipe. The wait staff was great. The band came on at 6:30 with ?southern Louisiana? style music. We really enjoyed the meal. We are glad to support and understand the difficulty of running a restaurant duringthe pandemic.
Fantastic dinner at Mulate's. Went in with a group and got a variety of foods and all was superb. The cornbread and whipped honey butter are an absolute must. The grilled gator bites as well, simply fantastic and so well seasoned and tender! Catfish and shrimp were perfectly fried, and the Caesar salad was delicious. They had live music going when we came in on Friday night. It was during the Final 4 so it was like a 45 min wait for a table but definitely worth it. Would recommend and would return happily!
Stopped here for a final meal before going to the airport. The appetizer was cornbread which was quite appealing. My entree was fried seafood platter consisted of catfish and shrimp. I needed one last taste of cajun before leaving town and this spot did not disappoint.
I had a great meal at Mulate's! I'm not an expert on Cajun food but I loved the Catfish Mulate's I had. It was very well seasoned and there was a lot of it!! The band was good. The service was friendly. It was a busy time but we were seated quickly and served within a reasonable time.
Saw the mixed reviews and was a little skeptical, but a Cajun restaurant owner in our hometown recommended this restaurant by name when we mentioned were were visiting New Orleans. We were very impressed by the food and by the attentiveness of the wait staff. Their seafood was delicious, cooked properly and well seasoned — it is amazing to taste the difference in FRESH seafood versus seafood that is shipped to restaurants frozen. I got the char grilled oysters and grilled fish and it was amazing. The butter sauce the oysters were cooked in by far made up for the fact that I prefer raw oysters. More than the seafood though I was BLOWN AWAY by the red beans and rice. I got them as a side and they were by far the best bowl I have eaten in my entire life.
