It feels more like a lunchtime spot than a dinner venue. The food is absolutely delicious; we particularly enjoyed the spicy chicken, falafel, and the assortment of vegetable dishes we tried. While their wine selection isn't extensive, the options available are delightful and reasonably priced. We enjoyed an Armenian wine that I had never tasted before, and it was truly wonderful. If you're in the mood for high-quality ingredients and dishes crafted by skilled cooks, this is the place to be.
We had been eager to visit this delightful little restaurant near Bayou St. John, and we absolutely loved it! We ordered The Feast (or something similar) and added the charred scallion whipped feta. We had so much food that we were able to take half of it home for a picnic the next day! The total was around $50 before drinks, and we ended up with four meals from it. Not only was it a fantastic value, but the food was also incredibly delicious! The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was charming, and everything is made in-house.
We ordered the falafel platter, which came with hummus, kale, cabbage salad, tahini, toum, zhoug, and fresh bread, as well as the chicken platter, which had the same delightful sides. We also enjoyed some Brussels sprouts that were flash-fried in lemon vinaigrette. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful! These are, without a doubt, the best falafels I’ve ever had! While the prices are a bit high for what you get, we truly enjoyed our delicious meal. I highly recommend this place!
If you love falafel without the heavy dose of parsley, this place is perfect for you! The menu is wonderfully creative and offers plenty of healthy options. It’s a great combo of delicious and nutritious food all in one spot. I discovered them through their food truck and have only heard positive things from others I've spoken with. Definitely worth a visit!
For some reason, New Orleans boasts at least six Middle Eastern restaurants and cafes. Among them, 1000 Figs ranks in the top two for its quality, authenticity, and generous portions. The platters are enormous—definitely more than enough for two or three meals! One standout dish, which may not even be traditionally Middle Eastern, is the roasted Brussels sprouts—they're simply fantastic. While the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, there's a wine bar next door where you can enjoy your lunch from 1000 Figs paired with a refreshing dry rosé, giving off a distinctly continental vibe. I almost felt like I was in Europe! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and it’s always bustling during lunch and on weekends.
