Feedback gevenTo be honest as hongkonger, I expected more of a respected and friendly attitude, I saw another comment that they did not get well treated, so I wonder that there is another experience for me, but not. I bought this meatless patty combo with rice, it turns out how roasted dry mushroom with salt and pepper. if you expect a good service and decent eating, you should probably choose another place. vegan. when they are ready to come, they are looking for the dressed without eggs and all the dishes are vegetarian friendly.
I am surprised that the evaluation is not higher. my dinner with my family here was absolutely delicious. the four of us must have ordered at least 10 dishes and we loved each one of them. some of them also came with a suppe or a drink. at the end the bill came to less than hkd500, which was quite cheap for all that eating. this is a very local place, so I would not recommend it if they don't speak Chinese or they don't talk to people who do. There are photo menus with tellertitles in English, but not everything is in them and the English is very broken. you wouldn't know what the dishes are if you weren't familiar with this kind of eating. I had no problem ordering vegan. the personal was knowledgeable. they even reminded me of the veggie huhn in the plate that I wanted to order had eggs in it. the room is kind of cramped, which is the only negatiw I can think of.
Rudely treated. the personal should be more respectful and formed through veganism.
I tend to prefer to go to strictly vegan places but it is not always easy in this place, the staff doens't speak English but some friends ordered with me in Cantonese. I got a noodle soup with vegetables. And what a nice surprise ! The bowl was really big and the (vegan) soup very tasty. It was more than enough for a meal and the waitress was friendly. It was also incredibly cheap (32HKD). If you're vegan and can't speak Cantonese, try to take your vegan passport to let them read what you it and don't.
Doo Lee Man is currently the only veggie restaurant that's open for dinner in Tai Po that I know of. There were quite a fair number of options available on the menu, but do note that the staff doesn't speak English. I ordered with a friend so we could each try a couple things and was a bit let down. Both dishes were coated in sauce to the point that I felt I was eating more sauce than vegetable. Was pretty tasty though, and due to the restaurant being my only evening option in Tai Po I'll probably eat again! Decent priced too.
