Not worth the money. The Piccata was dry and not good. No capers in with it. Not much butter. Mostly lemon juice. The Seared Sea Scallops were overcooked. It was like chewing on rubber bands that come with broccoli in the grocery store. The bacon that is wrapped around it isn't supposed to that cold k crunchy. They even managed to get the parm cheese wet, like real wet... and to add insult to injury, the delivery guy dropped it off at the wrong building and proceeded to tell me that he had the address right multiple times. 20 min later I got my food . $60 wasted.
The Capellini Pasta is always amazing! The Fettuccine Pasta with Alfredo tasted like dirty pasta water. It was not something I would order.
I used to always frequent the Cafe Boun Gusto in Downtown Brooklyn and was devastated when it closed. I decided I enjoyed the food so much, I would take the trip north to visit CBG’s other location. The food was decent but the price did seem a bit much, especially given the quantity of the food and the presentation (I’m talking to you, Lobster Linguini). My scallops in my shrimp and scallop appetizer was also over cooked and shriveled up when it arrive the the table. The space is also very small and fills quickly. To get to the bathroom I also had to walk through part of the prep area of the restaurant, which was extremely bizarre. All things considered, this was a pretty mid experience and though I would consider my self a CBG enthusiast (bring back the Bronzino with the pomegranate reduction), I’m probably not going to come back here. There are too many other great Italian spots in the city to settle for these prices, of that quality, in that space
My go-to for pasta dishes…especially love their vodka sauce
