The octopus with celery root and green peppercorn was our favorite dish as it was packed with well-balanced flavors Both pastas were tasty (Fregola Mafaldine) and uniquely serviced with unexpected accompaniments. However, the mafaldine came to the table a bit cold which was the only disappointment. Crown Shy provides a ritzy New York night out with the strong vibe, delicious food cocktails and exceptional service. *If you book on Resy and put the $50 deposit down, make sure it’s removed from the bill!
Place is gold, great cocktail program. Amazing staff and the food is amazing.
Starting with what I loved- the cocktails were incredible… get the melona milk punch. it’s one of my favorite cocktails now in the city! I also loved their bread service- we went during white truffle season, so we got an amazing gnocchi with a generous serving of white truffle. we also got a 30 dry aged ribeye on the specials menu that came with salad and potatoes- it was excellent (for some reason though, they wouldn’t let us have it cooked medium rare, only medium). the toffee sticky pudding was also very good, but I didn’t love the sorbet that came with it. the ambiance and vibe of crown shy is very fun… not stuffy at all and the music was so good. I would come back for a drink and snack at the bar! the least favorite part of our experience was the service- there was so much confusion around the drinks and we were all given the wrong drink multiple times. It was forgivable, but it happened more than once during our visit, and it was clear to even us which drink was correct and which one was wrong, based on the garnish. For a michelin restaurant, we expected more from the service.
Leaving this review before we even left the dining room. Incredible meal and service, super reasonably priced. Special shoutout to the scallop dish and oysters-outstanding!
Everything was fantastic from the bread and olive tapanad to start to the Carpacio to the octopus with chorizo. They earned their Michelin star and the prices were reasonable. Flavors had many layer
