Katsu-hama - New York

Excellent experience! The food was high quality and delicious, with impressive packaging and generous portion sizes. Definitely worth the price. Everything was delightful, but the standout surprise was how flavorful even the plain white rice was.

Since moving from Japan to NYC, I've been on the lookout for an authentic tonkatsu. Unfortunately, most places fall short with dry and thin offerings that just don't compare to the real deal. However, I found this restaurant, and it's truly fantastic and delicious!

The food is truly excellent, no doubt about that! However, I ordered set A, which is supposed to come with potato salad, but instead, I received cabbage salad. I really don’t want cabbage salad! This is the main reason I’m giving such a low rating.

The food was delicious, but the only downside was that it felt a bit warm inside, causing us to sweat for most of our meal. The air conditioning seemed to work better towards the end, so perhaps they were experiencing some issues that day.

This restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a relaxing and comforting meal. The staff is friendly, too. We both ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which was delicious and just what I was hoping for, although I found the sauce to be a bit thicker than I prefer. I'm definitely thinking about coming back later this week!
