Plug Uglies - New York

Tough loss tonight but this is a really solid Niners bar with a wide draft selection and excellent service. didn’t try the food or even see it (ate beforehand) so no comments there.

An excellent bar — and a great, neighborly proprietor who allowed us to host our Friendsgiving event in the restaurant 's outdoor dining shed at the last minute, upon having to switch venues.

Wound up here our last night of a girls trip Labor Day weekend and had the best time. We were probably loud and obnoxious but Eric the bartender didn’t seem bothered. Amazing service and drinks. We will certainly be back!

I didn't realize New York had townie bars, but Plug Uglys is most definitely one. The back is actually pretty spacious which is a rare commodity in the city. Yes there are plenty of creepy dudes here, but the shuffleboard almost makes up for it. Just be prepared for people to take it waaay too seriously. The beer selection is prety good.

Large space, comfortably appointed. Bartender was friendly. Manager/owner professional. Good selection of interesting beer both on tap and in bottles. Happy hour advertised however, specials limited to a few domestic varieties (in contrast to some other nearby bars). So, would not go for happy hour again but would be a nice spot for later evening (when one expects to pay full price for drinks).
