Before we know it our food arrives (that was quick! and they have huge servings so prepare to come in hungry. The food is really good. Prices are reasonable. The place is warm and as soon as others get up to leave, another set of diners come in. It doesn't seem to be a busy place but there seem to be a steady stream of customers, individuals or groups of 2 or 3, coming in just as others are leaving. It didn't feel crowded at all. Service is fast, served by competent but unsmiling staff, but that doesn't matter much when hunger strikes and you are treated to such delicious comfort food. Note that I said unsmiling, not unfriendly. <br/ <br/ Overall, a good experience best shared with awesome company and huge appetites. <br/ <br/ Will definitely recommend.
Wow, this place brought back amazing food memories of their old sister location that used to be up by me on 88th and 2nd ave. After a night of karaoke fun, and not having eaten anything since lunch other than the normal Friday night 'liquid ' dinner at happy hour we were starving and needed some solid food. <br/ <br/ My girl remembered that Saigon Grill was close by, and being that it was already after 11PM, we decided to forgo the normal late night pizza slice and see if this place was still open. We found it, renamed to Saigon Market, and saw that it was open to 12 midnight! We quickly got a table and our drooling was very noticeable as the menus were handed to us. We quickly discovered that the menu offerings were pretty much the same as their old place, and we did not have to even think twice about what to get. Vegetarian summer rolls, Tasty and Spicy Chicken, Ga Sate chicken. One bite and we were transported back into time food nirvana. Each plate was full and satisfying. So tasty we had to try to eat it slowly to actually enjoy it. Also, just like the old place, the food came out lightning fast! <br/ <br/ Many, many options on their large menu. Just solid Vietnamese food here. Lunch specials too. Open 7 days a week until midnight. As always, the service is attentive and no nonsense which was fine by us. We also noticed that this place is very large. Kind of reminds me of going to a big restaurant in Disney World. Easy access from the Union Square 4,5,6 subway stop. Will definitely take the quick subway ride down from the UES to get our food fix again.
Hearty Pho. Stopped there for a quick dinner on a cold winter night. The pho was hearty and it hit the spot. The broth was really delicious with a depth of flavor. I wish there was a little more beef sliced into it but the portion was so big I was unable to finish it all. Overall a decent meal and service was pleasant and accommodating. Interior could use a little sprucing up because it feels a bit dated but the place is huge.
Great for takeout/delivery. Their lunch specials are a great deal with all items under $10. Portions are big. The food is delicious. I recommend the Grilled Chicken Bun (grilled chicken over cold vermicelli noodles) or the Grilled Pork Chops.
I went a year ago and the food was excellent. The decor was up to par and the setting was intimate w/ dimmed lights as expected of a Asian restaurant. The food didn't take long and was exquisite. Best part was that the meal for two was approx. $30! I recommend it.
