Been going to Sylvias for years. Even though I live in Brooklyn now. I always take my birthday new years pilgrimage. As long as I'm alive and live in NYC I will continue to eat there. Best home cook food for me.
Celebrating my Dad's birthday at Sylvia's for brunch was ideal. We didn't have to wait long for a table. He ordered the smothered chicken and waffles. I decided to try the fried chicken and waffles for the first time. It was good and plentiful. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us constantly. Overall it was a nice experience. Thanks Sylvia's
Great experience at Sylvia's, the food was good and tasty. Typical cuisine from the south of the US. Not delicate, nor complex, but likeable. It's not healthy cooking lol The service was kind and fast. Prices are a bit high, but it's the price to pay for celebrity.
My ribs and fried chicken were really good, the greens were good, cornbread might have been the best I've had, not too sweet, perfect texture and the taste of the butter with the just right crisp outside. It wasn't amazing looking but definitely felt like a place people love. It was my first time in Harlem.
