We came because the eddy closes and we always wanted to try. we had two drinks and decided to start a baptism and share it. the lángos and the sausage starters were amazing. the wee and the cocktails were good, but the sorts were mostly limited for wee and it was overpriced. our “main course” was the soft-shell cancer, asparagus and chicken liver mousse. Unfortunately, all these dishes were so close to being good, but ultimately too rich for us. the spargel was carburized, but shattered in a heavy sawn sauce. we got two toast points scattered into pate, which was also very inconspicuous for a self-proclaimed foie gras pate lover. the soft bowl crawl was made good, but very salty. overall we enjoyed the evening and the aromen but are very happy that we had 25% for the final special. we wish we had tried some of the other dishes! I'm looking forward to what comes from the cook here.
I love this place. The food. The food is amazing. I don’t know how I can begin to do it justice. The beet tartare, the tongue pastrami, the pork chop, all out of this world. The maitre d came to check on us 3x, the waitress was personable, there when you wanted her and not intrusive when you didn’t. The cocktails were fun, strong and subtle at the same time. The ambience is rustic and cozy. So many great things I could say about The Eddy
We went for a special Passover dinner on April 20, which turned out to be a wonderful modern spin on all the traditional holiday foods. With our matzoh appetizer, for instance, we got a spreadable chicken liver mousse and a whipped bone marrow cream with truffles, along with the usual charoset. For the main course we had our choice of melt in your mouth lamb chop or a crispy Arctic char. And of course wine pairings with each course. Final pour of the night was a sweet Hungarian dessert wine Tokaji Kesoi Furmint to match a yummy panna cotta with kumquat pistachio.
Exceptional. so sad that this place ends, and was honored to be here too hospitable. have so many happy memories of this place, especially at the bar, have had some delicious food, some amazing drink and meet some wonderful people. a lot of luck for everyone on the eddy and I hope to hear about their next ventures soon.
