The new menu lacks vegan options, but there are handle-and-go vegan wrap options in the refrigerator. The café also offers packaged vegan baked goods from Sensitive Edibles and plant-based milk choices. It appears there may have been a change in ownership or management, as the spot is now known as Red Pipes Cafe. The website still displays the old menu, but the updated menu can be found on the Facebook page. Most of the food seems to be pre-made and heated to order instead of being freshly made, which speeds up food preparation. While the vegan baked goods were good, the tofu wrap I tried (not on the menu, but available in the cooler) was disappointing. The packaging was unappealing and the tofu was raw and soggy, lacking proper pressing. There was some hummus and dressing included, but not enough to balance out the plain tofu. I did not finish it. The coffee is good and the atmosphere is cozy, with local art adorning the walls. I hope the café introduces more quality vegan options in the future. (Updated review as of January 7, 2022.)
Thank you very much for the wonderful atmosphere at this restaurant. The environment is very relaxed and the table games add to the cool and cozy feel. We really enjoyed it.
I have had a mix of great and disappointing meals since I first visited this restaurant a year ago. I was ready to give up on it, but decided to give it one last chance. However, after my most recent experience, I have decided that I will not be returning. The quality of the food has declined, and this was further solidified by the owner's unpleasant attitude. My friend and I ordered two decaf almond milk cappuccinos, assuming that they would be made with non-dairy milk as I am vegan. However, after taking a few sips, we realized that they were made with regular dairy milk instead. When we brought this to the owner's attention, he made no apologies and even blamed us for not specifying our milk preference. His coworker Paige handled the situation much more gracefully, apologizing and assuring me that there was no allergy risk. The owner reluctantly remade our drinks, but when I noticed they were still made with dairy milk, he ignored me. When I mentioned it again, he dismissed me, saying I should have specified my preference more clearly. Overall, the lack of customer service and attention to detail has led me to seek out a better dining option.
I made a special trip because I wanted to be a few baked and it has bright reviews that I now not fathom why or how. I have a BLAT sandwich and 4 different baked goods red including cupcake, pecan pier, apple spicy muffin and chocolate cheesecake muffin. the only product that tasted good was red vevet cupcake. the pancake was a sweat. how to call it pecan pier is a secret. everyone can make a much better vegan pecan pee with isa chandra recipe. there are so many good recipes for vegan speck online, but their did not come near even bad. my non-vegan friend got a smoothie he explains acceptable.
This all vegan spot has pastries, smoothies, and full meals. I got the waffles with some type of vegan whipped cream that was really good!
