Ramen Goku - New York City

The food was mediocre, and I felt like I was overcharged, including for tips. This place lacks integrity, despite their claims of prioritizing trust. I highly recommend checking reviews before deciding to visit. Choose a different restaurant where the food and service are better, and everyone is treated with care.

I’m giving this restaurant one star because they added a substantial tip to my bill without my consent. I wouldn’t have given a high tip considering the waitress's service was lacking; I had to repeat my requests multiple times. She also forgot our dumplings and brought them out last, despite them being an appetizer. Additionally, she didn't ask my son if he wanted mayo or BBQ sauce with his tater tots, which resulted in having to send them back. Normally, I wouldn’t write reviews like this, but the fact that they charged my card extra money that I did not authorize is unprofessional. Given the quality of service we received, it was certainly not worth it. I will be filing a police report because this isn’t just a mistake; there are too many reports of similar incidents involving this place, and it seems like this has been a continued issue for years. It needs to stop, and I believe the restaurant should be held accountable.

The ramen here is quite nice, but it leans more towards Chinese-style ingredients than Japanese or Korean. The broth is also a bit more mild in flavor.

I had the matcha iced tea with a medium tonkotsu. The broth was great, it was very hearty. I was the only customer when I entered but the staff was nice, good experience.

Great food but really stingy. My bf and I tried the pork belly and chicken ramen, yet only got half a boiled egg each. I know eggs got expensive this year but now we have to share them?
