The food was fantastic - we ordered a ham sandwich with salad, a cheese sandwich with salad, a side of homemade chips, and a pot of tea for two. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions - the sandwiches were huge with plenty of salad, and the chips were perfectly cooked and plentiful. The tea was served in a beautiful Royal Albert teapot with delicate teacups. The service was exceptional, and I would highly recommend this place.
On a Thursday afternoon (not during school holidays), we were pleased to see that Rumbles was bustling with customers. They still offer a wonderful variety of homemade cakes and hearty meals. Our go-to choice of toasties never disappoints whenever we visit, and it's a comforting feeling to be able to enjoy our food inside with real cups and saucers again, now that Covid restrictions have lifted.
I had a pleasant stroll to the restaurant, and the nearby play park was a nice addition. The coffee was overpriced and not very good, but the cake was delicious at £3 per slice with a generous portion. Unfortunately, when we ordered a child's tub of ice cream, we were charged a steep £3 for it. Despite the charming ambiance of the cafe, I was disappointed by the pricing and won't be coming back.
Indoor cafe still not open therefore all food and drink served in paper etc. collection by oneself from an open window you certainly don’t expect to pay such high prices. I have just paid more for a coffee than in a high class cafe/bistro with table service and crockery. £3.30 is way too expensive. As you can understand will not be going there again.
Great value icecream really tasty and enjoyed by everybody. Customer service is still outstanding and there's a great choice of cold drinks and lollies (for the three seconds the summer weather lasts!
