Sumo Sushi - Newbury Park

As soon as I approached the entrance, I was warmly welcomed. They have outdoor seating available in tents and while they do offer indoor seating, I opted for the outdoor experience during this visit. The menus are accessible via QR codes, which makes it easy to navigate. I appreciated the abundance of food photos and clear descriptions on the menu. The selection is extensive, especially for happy hour, which has a lot more options than you’d typically expect. The prices are reasonable, and the food is absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the garlic chili edamame. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! The staff is friendly, the menu is straightforward, and I plan to return often. As for the decor, it's modern and clean. I had no issues with the staff—everything went smoothly. The food is definitely above average, though I can't comment on the bathroom since I didn't use it.

Sumo Sushi offers excellent deals. They have fantastic lunch combos, and you can also enjoy one of their two happy hours. The first happy hour runs from 4 to 6 PM, and the second is at 8:30 PM.

The sushi here is delicious, with generous portions of fish. They don’t overdo it on the rice for the sushi or rolls. I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant and will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

Japanese place in Thousand oaks with some Happy Hour Specials. I have Gyoza and Yum! they were delicious! Crispy outside with filling Veggies still tight with a crunchy. 5 pieces sushi saliva, mackerel, aal, spicy Albacore and sweet shrimp with a spicy tuna and scallop roll. Dynamite food, good cravings, good cold beers a solid meal. Here is the breakdown: Yummy knusprig Gyoza 1 star; good hot sweet 1 star; excellent paragraph 1 star; good size parts 1 star; great service 1 star

This review is for takeout only (covid). Got to thousand oaks around 8, looking for a quick bite for a late dinner. They start happy hour pricing at 8:30, so waited a bit before placing our order on the phone. Customer service was very helpful with helping us find the menu online. Generous portions for a great price during happy hour and tasty! Definitely took care of our sushi cravings
