The barra and flathead were as good as you'd get in an upmarket pub, similarly priced and we were able to walk down the road and eat them by the sea.

Take away fish and chips was pleasant enough but $22 is a bit rich for no table servide and outside tables. apparently you can sit inside in the evening.

Everyone knows Scottie's is THE spot to acquire your beachside fish and chips (and a mean burger) in Newcastle so there's not much more I can tell you that

JEN!!! Just had lunch and wow oh wow oh wow!! I had salmon and so did joe. It's better than any seafood restaurant we have been to in Sydney or anywhere for that matter!! The fish was 11 out of 10 plus more!! Thank you so much for another wow factor meal. We love Scotties

We had eaten takeaway from here before and enjoyed it, so thought we would try out the dine-in option. Although most reviews are very good, we were a little disappointed with the experience. We treated ourselves to cocktails and they were excellent. Food was good although quite highly priced, particularly considering the atmosphere. We were expecting a restauranty-feel to the place, after reviewing their menu online and the pricing, but it was pretty much just a fish and chip shop with the smell of deep frying in the air. Would definitely eat there again by getting takeaway, but the dine-in experience just left us a little flat. We had our next meal at Jonah's on the beach and for a luxury experience, prices were not that much more per plate.
