We've been going to kimchi planet for more than two years and it's probably our favourite restaurant in Newcastle. Food is delicious and well priced. Only problem is it's so hard to choose between the spicy chicken rice bowl and pork cheese and egg kimchi fried rice!
We are regular customers with the quality and flavours of Korean food served being excellent. The vegan beef kimbap (sushi), fried vegetable dumplings and homemade kimchi jars to go are personal favourites. There is a clear amount of talent and love that goes into cooking these hearty and fresh dishes. The staff are always helpful and friendly.
I was so excited to try this place as it had great reviews. I really wanted to give it 5/5 (because the food is out of this world and was absolutely amazing the best takeaway we’ve had) however my decision was sadly based on the customer service I received as soon as I walked through the door. The lady was very unwelcoming and looked at me as tho why she coming in this late (20:15) and food preparation finishes at 20:30 which is fine. She never gave me a warm welcome. I have never been here before and asked for recommendations which I got a blank look at and one word answer. Sharp, unhappy and abrupt which I found disheartening. Such lovely food tho and throughly enjoyed it. Just first impressions were sadly disappointing.
What a lovely wee hidden gem. We found out about this place from a work colleague, as it is hidden away in a quiet housing area. We both had rice bowls which were delicious and really reasonably priced. It's also incredible how as soon as you step through the door, it's like you're not in England any more the atmosphere and decor mimics small restaurants in Asia so well! Definitely worth the trip!
