Persian Delight - Newcastle upon Tyne

Proper family Persian cafe /restaurant. Vv clean ladies toilets. Lovely people. Had amazing marinated chicken skewer on naan and the Thursday special of lamb shank with incredible aromatic rice cooked with broad beans. Massive portions! Turkish tea, wld have been perfect with Turkish coffee too but not available. 100%recommend

£11:50 for 2 very thin slices of lamb and some rice. Bland taste and Most definitely the worst value meal iv seen terrible. We’ve been coming here for years and won’t be returning what a let down

Amazing cultural gem in the heart of Newcastle. Good reputation and great customer care. Easy to access location. The downside: this was a highly recommend takeaway and restaurant. It maybe that a sit-in session would be better than a takeaway, but I was not impressed. The main gripe is the very burnt edges on the lamb cuts and tomatoes – see the pics . The food was Persian? But it was nothing special. The parking – even if you are just visiting to pickup your order is a complete nightmare. I cannot recommend – based on the takeaways I ate.

Been using this eatery for years now since it first opened and have seen them upgrade kitchen, dining and toilet areas as business developed. Never had a bad meal, even the Grandchildren love visiting for their kebab rolls and rice. Visited today, just me and ‘er indoors. Food took 20mins to cook and, being takeaway only at the moment, they told me it would be this long so I could wait outside in my car. I had the mixed chicken and lamb kebab roll and ‘er indoors a single chicken tikka roll with rice together with a couple of cans of diet coke came to £12.20. The food was excellent, lovely fresh and tasty. Looking forward to my next visit already

Food wasn’t bad , but certainly wasn’t anything special . It’s got its own market for cafe style Iranian food for people without understanding of real cooking . Rice is bad , no tomato with koobideh , no sumac . Takeaway containers are wrong , rice is too much should be in no6 container and meat in circular ones Chicken is tasteless as is aubergine sides. Taste of Persia is the place to go for Iranian food unless your a taxi driver .
