Went for a special lunch ,my daughter is due to go into hospital and this was just getting together to talk etc ,the main disgraceful was the prawn cocktail !it was on a pudding plate one small whole lettuce leaf and some beige coloured liquid with hard small prawns poured over it !no tomatoes no brown bread instead of a nice rich mayonnaise over plump prawns I got something like cold prawn soup disgusting ,if a chef can’t make a decent prawn cocktail it’s very sad ,and it took ages for our main 40 mins not to be recommended

Brilliant cheese burger best chunky chips excellent chef lovely friendly staff well worth a visit service was excellent

I was a little apprehensive returning here for food, some of the reviews weren't great and I also visited last year for Sunday lunch and was not impressed, but having recently moved back to the area so wanted to give it another go and I'm pleased I did. We ordered a variety of food, pizza,burgers,steaks, and fish, it was all delicious!! Good portions and the dirty fries with the burger..absolutely amazing. The kids demolished the pizzas and the steak came with the biggest chunky chips I've ever seen. I would've loved to have a pudding but literally could not move after my meal. The service was great, and the food was reasonably priced. It was exactly the pub grub I wanted. I think maybe a few more chefs would be better in the kitchen during busy weekend periods but that did not effect the quality of the food. We'll definitely return.

Tiny portion of steak pie,thin rock hard pastry and burnt steak filling.also had beef noodles which was overcooked and full of fat.will not return as service was also poor.

Food very good and plentiful again.....but...... Asked for 2 x extra gravy, got 1. Ordered cauli cheese, but it fell off order between till and kitchen. Waiting staff were not bothered. Was offered cauli cheese after food eaten. Not offered refund. I didnt pursue it. Not my style. Staff didnt seem keen to maximise the eating experience. The owner/mgr who was there last time, didnt appear to be there this time....maybe this was the reason?
