Baked Uprising - Newcastle

Baked goods, count me in. A Sunday morning visit to Uprising Bakery in the quiet neighbourhood of Maryville. Don't mind the queue, it moves fast. Oooh, so much to choose, I got the following:<br/ <br/ Savoury Danish light crunchy pastry with a delicious filling, absolutely loved it!<br/ Berry Brioche sweet, jammy and tart berries compliment the rich delectable creme patisserie in this lovely brioche creation<br/ Bostick orange soaked brioche filled with almond frangipane, this is a light and very tasty item<br/ Hazelnut, Maple and Chocolate Tart lovely balance of flavours with a strong chocolate flavour coming through but not too chocolatey. Delicious.<br/ <br/ Very happy and satisfied. Happy Sunday morning.

This place was just amazing... It was a bit of a drive and very well hidden, but definitely worth it. We had the continental breakfast which was absolutely amazing (and huge). You get to pick your pastries and they were just devine.

Nice decor. A little hard to find if using Google Maps, as it isn't recognised as an outlet yet. Staff were pleasant and the choice of food for lunch and breakfast good.Had the ratatouille pie which was tasty, and a coffee that was good.

Already wrote a review about my love for the bread here but today I tried a bacon and egg pie and lamb sausage roll. Both were super tasty. The pastry on both were to my liking. Pie one held its shape and had nice crunch. Sausage roll pastry very flakey. The pie was really interesting. The egg part was tasty, nice herb flavour and creamy with two large egg yolks and bacon on the bottom. Lamb in sausage roll also full of flavour. Meat was juicy. Now I'll come here for bread and pie. Also got some hot cross buns because it was good friday. Massive line up. It was quite dense. I don't usually eat hot cross buns so really don't know if that's good or not but I enjoyed it.

Almond Croissant. Delicious flaky sourdough pastry with a light sweet honey and buttery flavour. Yum!!
