Ichiban Sushi House - Newmarket

I have been coming here since the beginning and the sushi has always been way above par. They always give you free stuff when your ordering a few items.

Used to frequent this restaurant quite a bit, back in the day, however attended less and less as time went on (discovered better places, in my opinion.) The overall experience at Ichiban is far from poor, though some things are lacking, here and there.There is always only one member of the wait staff on hand and only one chef, every Friday night I have gone, thus there are indeed wait times. Also, the menu is a bit sparse, especially for a non-AYCE restaurant. Other than that, the food is fantastic, fresh and tasty. Spicy Salmon roll works well, like always and the White Dragon roll and Sushi Pizza, are really good. Food comes out looking super elegant as well, especially with the decorative pieces they come on. All in all, Ichiban is not bad.

I have been here many times. Love the sushi and everything else. They always are sending out food to try at no charge. Great service! Great atmosphere.

Visited with my son and his friend. My son and I tried to order bulgogi and bibimbop. After ordering and waiting 5 minutes we were told they couldn't make any of the Korean dishes. We changed to noodles and sushi which was good but the whole experience left me a bit put out.

I visited on Saturday night. There were three tables occupied in the entire restaurant. It still took more than ten minutes to be acknowledged by the server. She then told us it would be a long waited for food...don't go unless you have lots of spare time!
