Went to a wedding recently and this was a beautiful, intimate setting!

Despite that, she took our shoes as we were heading upstairs and insisted we couldn't bring anything else with us, including mascara, lipstick, or hairspray. When we went back to retrieve our new shoes, which we had bought for the ceremony, they were carelessly tossed on the floor. This treatment felt entirely unacceptable, especially given that we were being asked to show her property the utmost respect. When we tried to do our makeup in our cars, she approached us with questions about the decor that we weren't familiar with and insisted we were responsible for it since there was no coordinator. While I understand her point, her tone was condescending, as if we were her staff. That was when I really had enough of her attitude and chose to disengage. I made an effort not to disrespect her property, but overall, I cannot recommend this venue. It appears that others have also found them difficult to work with, as noted by several guests. I am puzzled by the numerous five-star reviews; based on my experience, it seems they may treat everyone this way. In response to the owner's reply: I want to clarify that I am an adult, which made your treatment of us even more perplexing. I have years of experience in customer service, and this is not how to treat guests. We were aware of the makeup and hair rules beforehand and had no issue with them; rather, it was the manner in which you enforced them and how you spoke to us that was the problem. We intended to do our makeup in our cars and only brought in our dresses because we had left everything else behind. The way my shoes were tossed aside was uncalled for and showed a clear lack of respect. If you expect respect for your rules, it should go both ways. I have no reason to lie in my review, and I rarely leave them. However, your defensive response to my feedback confirms that sharing my experience was the right choice.
