Hands down, this eggs Benedict is the best I’ve ever tasted. The chef never fails to amaze with this option. You’re missing out if you haven’t enjoyed this beautiful place. Management is also affable.
Best breakfast spot in Newport Beach. This is honestly one of the top meals on my list. Everything on the menu looked so delicious, and it was! I ordered one of the omelettes and it was one of the tastiest omelettes I can say I've ever eaten. My husband got the French toast. It did not disappoint. The coffee was great. The waitresses and staff were very friendly. It was very busy and chaotic inside. But they still provided great service. The portion sizes are generous so come hungry!
We come every summer to La Maison. It's our favorite restaurant in Newport. The Monecristo is the best one we have ever had. The charming atmosphere of the restaurant is great for breakfast and lunch or to take someone from out of town. We make a point to come here every time we travel to Newport. The pastries are superb.
Updated Review I have been coming here for years and love this place. I look forward to eating here everytime I'm close. My visit on Sunday changed all that. We ordered a full hollandaise split combo, a pastry and 2 iced teas. We LOVE, LOVE the breakfast sandwiches, and get them normally. The english muffins are normally amazing. These were literally hard as rocks, the hollandaise didn't taste like hollandaise. It had no flavor. We got up disappointed. Went to pay our bill, it should been 22 for the combo 6.50 for the pastry and even though they weren't posted we gifured the iced tea was 2-3 since the hand squeezed orange juice was $7. Our total came to 43.50, and it didn't make sense that would make our iced teas 6.50 each. I asked a question about our total and got stared at. I asked again if the breakfast was 24 and the pastry 6.50 was the rest so much. Again stared at. Frustrated, we left. I even tipped out of habit. We were very, very disappointed with our whole experience. Previous review We went for the first time on a recent trip to Depot Bay. We have the AMAZING breakfast sandwiches on their home made english muffins. They made me never want to eat a store bought muffin ever again. We also had one of their eclairs and those are on another level. We ended up eating breakfast there twice in a 3 day stay.
Restaurant is dirty (windowsills really dusty) cramped and service is strange. Waitstaff seemed overwhelmed or inexperienced (didn’t serve our table for a while, first sat us at a table that was too tight to fit in and forgot our silverware after bringing food. We knew that they charge $2 for an extra plate which seemed off but when the food arrived, it was inedible. We had the french toast and bacon. The bacon was bland and the cream and bananas on the french toast was off as well. Neither of us were able to stomach the meal and left after a few minutes. The baked items available looked good.
