Benihana - Newport Beach

Whenever I'm in the mood for dinner and a show, I always choose Benihana, and it never lets me down. The Benihana in Newport Beach has recently been renovated, and it looks fantastic! I really appreciate the modern aesthetic. The food was fresh and delicious as well. I kicked off my evening with a Sake Sangria and a California Roll, which were the perfect start to a wonderful night. Then, at the hibachi table, I was entertained by a skilled chef who had some impressive tricks up his sleeve. I'm definitely going back and can’t wait for my next visit!

Benihana’s flavors are so distinct that they deserve their own category. While there are various Teppan restaurants, such as Yama Teppan House in Dana Point, my husband, who enjoys cooking on the weekends, often searches online for Benihana’s secrets. However, nothing can truly replicate the authentic taste of Benihana. My daughter ordered the special—Steak and Lobster—but they substituted the Filet Mignon for the steak. I found the lobster to be quite rich, while the hibachi chicken was excellent. That said, nothing compares to the hibachi Filet Mignon, which I absolutely must order next time!
