Tacos Co - Newport Beach

I'm always surprised to see the few stars on this place. I always go for the pastor street tacos. Service is great, people are friendly and ready to recommend things. Granted not every item in the menu is amazing, but that is every place. If you wantsome good pastor tacos and good guacamole, you will like this place.

The breakfast burrito with carnitas is absolutely amazing! It’s loaded with plenty of meat!

I can’t believe this restaurant has been open for so many years and only holds a 3.5-star rating. The tacos in the two-taco combo were just 3 inches in diameter. The carne asada tasted like it had been sitting in the warmer for over 24 hours—completely unappetizing. All the salsas were overly salty. I wanted to enjoy a nice lunch with my girlfriend, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. And the crispy chicken tacos? They were laughable.

I went there for happy hour and ordered from the happy hour menu, but I ended up being charged regular menu prices. When I pointed this out to the guy in charge, he confirmed that I was indeed charged for regular items. I had initially mentioned that I wanted to order from the happy hour menu, so it was frustrating. Even if the food had been great, I wouldn't have complained. However, the carnitas on my nachos were bland, and my child didn't finish his tacos due to lack of flavor. The food was disappointing, and they overcharged me. I won't be returning.

I bought a Cubano Torta on 10/23/19 and towards the end of me eating it...I noticed a 1/2 inch sized dead cockroach in the box. It must have fallen out of the sandwich. I wanted to throw up the whole thing. How did they not notice it mixed with theirfood?! What kind of safety precautions does this place have?! I?m NEVER eating here again.
