My wife said 'have you ever went somewhere just wanting good food. Somewhere that just understood the assignment? Well this was IT! She was thrilled from the first step in the restaurant and I knew as soon as I took my first bite. We ordered take out and it was STILL GREAT! Portions= Amazing Quality= About as good as it gets for take out Price= A bit pricey but WORTH IT. If you 're on a budget and really hungry, this may not be a good fit. Appearance= Loved it Special shoutout to the Naan bread. We got the garlic Naan and saw specs of garlic on it. All yum and they EARNED my 5 star review! Well surely eat here again...AND AGAIN!
We came here around 6:30PM and the place was packed but we were seated fairly quickly. It was my boyfriend’s first time trying out Indian food and I was more than excited for him to finally get a taste for it. I have also never been in this restaurant before so I didn’t know what to expect. I ordered the goat biryani and it was great, however, I wish I didn’t listen to the server (a middle-aged guy wearing glasses) as he ‘warned’ me about people complaining about the spice levels being ‘too hot’ for them, as I really do prefer eating my food with the highest level of spice. I just wish I took the level 5 as I was looking for that bite of spiciness but the server refused me and insisted I do 4 instead, lmao. However, the taste in itself was very fragrant and delicious and there was a decent amount of goat meat but the price of $18 was a bit steep for the overall amount of the serving. I’d come back here but would request a different area so I don’t get the same server. Note: Our food didn’t come out till after 38 minutes so definitely expect a long wait before you’re able to eat. They do provide some free appetizers— like crackers of some sort with a tamarind and chili and pickled onion side so wasn’t that bad.
This was my first time, and I had an amazing experience at Aago! My server Deepak explained all of the food and the ingredients, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. On that topic, the menu is extensive and even has a vegetarian section. I ordered the Fish tikka and the sauce was so decadent and flavorful. The vibe of the restaurant was very welcoming and it was very clean. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend Aago.
Although they were busy, Our servers went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. The food was hot and perfect portion sizes the desert was delicious. We found our new favorite Indian restaurant in Hampton roads, thanks Aago for a great experience.
Everything was excellent. Portion sizes were a lot larger than I expected. But that's a good thing. I had the lamb Tikka masala and samosas and garlic naan. The Tikka masala had plenty of lamb chunks in it. It was only my second time having a samosa and they were larger than some I had previously. But they were still delicious. Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. The server was patient with my brother and I as we were trying to figure out what to order. I do believe this will become my favorite restaurant and I look forward to trying out new items on the menu.
