Cob Pen Brasserie At The Swan Revived

Local business great setting (comfortable seating) and pleasant staff. No takers in our party of 6 for the starters Main course nice but a poor choice and some nice deserts.

Great food. Didn’t know until we got there that it was Steak night. 2 Steak Dinners and a Bottle of Wine for £30. Brilliant deal and very tasty.

The food was well prepared and presented. Portions were generous.

Meal was good but a number of us had to return meal as not exactly as ordered (group of 8). However any errors very quickly rectified.

It is a few years since we visited the Swan Revived. A great deal of the public area has been refurbished and has mostly been done well. One order was for a burger which came mounted on a wooden board. The abandonment of dinner plates to be replaced by whatever is different is a growing trendy practice which is usually pretty stupid. The wooden board proved to be fairly difficult to use as it was unstable when trying to cut through the built up burger with the metal basket of chips interfering at the same time. One is also a bit unhappy with how hygienic wooden boards are. Should they be sterilized between use rather than washed? Nothing wrong with the food or service and welcoming staff.
