A telephone call and our choice of dishes for our takeaway was taken by the Irish voice at the other end.. It was a shame we were not told that they no longer take cards for payment. So, we had to drive down, pay cash and collect our meal. On arrival our order was quickly despatched with the addition of some Prawn Crackers. The waiting area was spotlessly clean and the smells emanating from the kitchen got the salivary glands working. Once back in the house we unpacked the well sealed containers to find a generous serving of the four dishes we had ordered. Flavours were fresh, no MSG predominating. Vegetables were still crunchy , not limp and tasteless. The meat dishes nicely spiced and not too greasy. My host will be using this Chinese takeaway again. Thankyou for a great takeaway.
Really cant understand why there is so many bad reviews than good ones! Lee Garden is my favourite and the best chinese in the town! I would never change, absolutely delicious! Great portion sizes, ribs are to die for, curry is amazinng and the salted chilli chicken is great! Staff is always friendly, delivery man is lovely and quick! Always chats away, fab place
I have had another disappointing experience at this Chinese restaurant. The quality of the food has declined significantly, so I will be avoiding it for the time being. For the second time, my chow Mein was filled with thickly cut, raw onions and overly seasoned with pepper, making it unpleasant to eat. The chicken also seems to have changed for the worse, as it was chewy, hard, and dry, giving the impression that it had been sitting out for too long. It's a shame because I used to enjoy this place, but I can no longer recommend it.
I don't recognize the negative reviews about Lee Garden that have been posted. I am suspicious of them and feel the need to defend what I believe to be the best Chinese restaurant in Newry. I have been dining here for the past 6 months, usually once a week or every other week, and have never had a bad experience. During my visit last weekend, the staff were as friendly as ever. I pre-ordered over the phone and my food was ready and waiting for me upon arrival. One of my favorite things about Lee Garden is that the chicken in their chow mein actually tastes like real chicken- it seems to be pulled chicken. Unlike other Chinese restaurants in Newry, they don't serve rubbery, oddly-shaped pieces of chicken. I also appreciate that they offer the option of normal or fine noodles, with fine noodles being my preference. Additionally, I have found the staff to be very kind- I often receive complimentary prawn crackers with my order, which, though I am not a huge fan of prawn crackers, taste decent enough.
Absolutely beautiful place to get food. I and my friends went and we made a photo to show our whole family because it's just so good to go here now.
