I'm so stuffed after eating this meal but everything was so delicious! I watched them cook everything fresh . The platter was served with rice, veggies, hummus and a salad. You could absolutely tell everything was fresh, will be back again to try something more exotic! With so many good options at the Newtown Farmers Market this is a place I highly recommend.
So delicious! Thank you for your authentic tasty food! I got a combo with hummus, chicken, baba famous, carrot and potato salad. And feta cheese. Everything is so nicely packaged and good sized servings to share with my kids who are eating it up! So good and satisfied my craving as always.
Ordered the chicken kebab platter and this is what I got They steamed the chicken and they microwave some white rice $14 it's a little rubbery but i'm sure my dogs will probably enjoy it for dinner LOL..... i'll leave out the photo of the piece I spit out.
We were looking for a casual spot to have lunch in Newtown and noticed King of Falafel and their slew of great Yelp reviews. I've never been to Newtown, so I wasn't sure of what to expect from a falafel joint located in an Amish Market, but yeah, the quality of the food was very good! We got a grilled chicken platter and a vegetarian falafel platter and both were delicious. My only gripe was that there wasn't very much meat on the chicken plate. For $12 bucks there were only 5 small pieces of chicken amid the sea of salad, hummus and pita. But, what was there was definitely memorable. I should also note, for families coming with small kids, there is only 1 high chair for the entire food court dining area. We got lucky and snagged it right away but I can see how this could be an issue on busy days. I would definitely recommend bringing a stroller with a tray just in case.
Had a piece of their chocolate baklava which was ok, far from the best baklava we've had but not the worst. The advertised/displayed price for the small bite sized piece was $1.75 which was a bit high considering the size of the piece, but it's a farmer's market so wasn't expecting great prices in there to begin with. However later when I got home looked at the receipt and we were also charged a service charge of .69 which amounts to a 40% service charge! My bad for not looking at the receipt at the time of purchase to question it then, but it also would've been great if the service charge had been disclosed clearly/mentioned by staff prior to ordering /or paying. No one likes surprises on their bill, this one just cost King of Falafel any of our future business.
