Ferris Acres Creamery - Newtown

It's always great when creameries offer vegan options that aren't just sorbet, but unfortunately, this place was a letdown. I ended up trying the Crazy Monkeys and Banana flavors. The Mad Monkey had a brownie bite in it that was good, but it had an overwhelming taste of olive oil. The ice cream itself was okay, not too sweet or clumpy, but it was crystallized and had large ice chunks. I expected it to be creamier since it's made from pastel milk, but it seemed watered down. Maybe it was just an off day, but I don't think I'll be returning unless I'm in the area and really craving ice cream. There's also an extra vegan tax of $0.75 per scoop.

They only offer hard ice cream and no soft serve options. The flavors mostly taste like milk, but they do have a few vegan options available to choose from.

The ice cream is amazing! It's worth driving an hour from Manchester to try it. We love trying out new flavors every year. Highly recommend for any ice cream lover!

There is no better ice in the area. They have so many flavors to choose. The ordering process is streamlined where you place your order on a window, then there are several pick-up windows. You accept cash and card. The ice is so good with generous portions. I can't stop going there. Very recommended, but warned the weekends are really busy and parking is limited. When it's busy, I always go to the “go” window and get some quarters or pints. The landscape is also beautiful, you can usually have some cows on the street. Very nice facility that runs well.

My favorite ice creams: -Black Raspberry -Campfire -Bada Bing -Cookie Jar - Mocha Mayhem Pro Tip: If you are satisfied with just one pint or quarter, you can go through the express window and from there in less than 20 minutes. Words cannot describe the incredibly delicious ice cream! The first time I had it, it completely destroyed my GI, but that's probably because I didn't have a real ice before. I mean, you can see the cows in the pasture! The line for the cones/sounds can be a little intimidated BUT ITS WORTH IT!!! I love this place. Thank you for making such wonderful ice cream.
