We booked a table in advance, but upon arrival, the manager (the same short purple-haired woman) seemed frustrated when she couldn't find the thermometer. She took our temperature and curtly informed us that our time slot was between 2-4, speaking to us in an angry tone as if scolding children. There was no greeting or welcome, which was unacceptable behavior from someone in a managerial position. Overall, the rude and disrespectful behavior of this manager has turned me off from returning to the Parkview Hotel. Each visit seems to be marred by her actions, making it an unpleasant experience for us.
After a hectic afternoon serving a wedding, the restaurant staff were attentive and courteous. We enjoyed a delightful dinner with a variety of options to choose from. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.
After a disappointing experience waiting for hours to be served food at the 5-star Druids Glen hotel, we decided to try Synott's Bar in the nearby town for steak. The decor was a bit outdated and could use a modern update, but the food was excellent. The service was friendly, with a smile and some good old Irish conversation. The prices were great value for money, making it a perfect choice for lunch or dinner. We were greeted warmly and had a lovely dining experience overall.
I came here for lunch on a Sunday as it had been rated high on TripAdvisor but boy was I shocked. Ordered the deep fried Brie and filo king prawns (a special) for starter... both were cheap and frozen- €9 for 4 frozen island prawns. Then for main course I ordered a main course size prawns pil pil... which was 10 prawns with sweet chilli sauce, what a let down for €16. My boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich which was burnt ciabatta and over cooked steak. I would not recommend here at all!!
Our stay in the hotel included one dinner in Synnott's. It was excellent. We went with the menu and we were all very pleased with our choices. Two of the party chose steak which was apparently some of the best steak either of them had ever had. The steaks were perfectly cooked as requested. The accompaniments were tasty, well cooked and plentiful. One of the party chose chicken which was tender and full of flavour. The accompaniments were again well received and suitable quantity. I had fish which was excellent. It had good flavour and texture and was beautifully filleted. I was very pleased with it. My veg were cooked as I like them with a little bite and plenty of taste. My roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. We had starters and desserts too, after all it was our Christmas treat. Service was highly professional and very charming.
