The Waterfront Kitchen - NHULUNBUY

Food is amazing here really good value for money. There is a play area inside and outside for children.

Sitting in the outside dining area at what is now the Gove Boat Club, you could almost forget to eat when the views take your breath away...particularly at sunset! There's plenty of space for kids to run around, kick a ball, play chase, or clamber on the playground, without fear of bothering other diners; there's an indoor area with TV too, where they can take some time out. Service is a bit cafeteria style - you order and pay at the counter, take a buzzer back to the table and then return to collect your own food when it's ready. There's a cutlery and condiments station to help yourself to as well. Prices aren't over-the-top and the quality and portion size add up to a good value meal. A big serve of battered threadfin with chips and salad was absolutely delicious. The blackened barra, although declared flavoursome enough was disappointingly, a bit on the dry side. Kids' serves are generous too. Drinks are well priced, though it's worth knowing the bar is cash only (there is an ATM on site). Despite a busy Saturday night crowd, all the staff were relaxed and friendly - always a bonus. A delightful meal, in a stunning, family-friendly setting, was one of the highlights of our visit to Nhulunbuy - can't wait to get back!

What a great spot! Beautiful views of the harbour, huge meals and the quickest of service for our group of 15 people, I was seriously impressed!!!

Went fir dinner and had the seafood platter for 2 $55 was fantastic and the view is great. Grabbed a drink and headed to the waterfront and sat and watched the sunset
