Aux Deux Chefs - Nice

We loved it. What more can I say. Go there, enjoy great food and nice ambience at a reasonable price.

Went recently with a group of friend and the service was fantastic and the food really lovely. The lavendar duck was amazing, never tasted anything like it! Fish stew, ribs and sea bass were all lovely too.

We had a wonderful time. The evening was terrific, with great food, with lots of choice, even for the vegetarian! Thanks to the chef and his lovely wife for making it such a special occasion.

Excellent quality food and a wide choice of meals. The dish of the day is always perfect and presented with style. The Restaurant is simple and intimate with regular customers mixing with passing tourists. It is a family run restaurant and the chef has obviously worked with the best although the prices are very reasonable.

We couldn't resist this place near our hotel in the Liberation district of Nice, as we are two cooks ourselves. A delightful venue with friendly service in English and French, although the restaurant was rather quiet, perhaps because of the start of Euro2016. From the interesting range of starters, all locally sourced, we chose a seafood salad, which turned out to be enormous (more a light lunch portion) if deliciously refreshing with rocket and fennel and sheep's cheese to balance the mussels and prawns and whelks; and a gaspacho of Mediterranean vegetables with basil foam. For mains, one of us had a large Mediterranean hamburger cooked rare to medium with prosciutto ham and herby tomatoes served with fried polenta sticks, while the other had a delightfully pink fillet of pork with a sweet and sour sauce. A gently complex Coteaux d'Aix (AOP) complemented these dishes. We rounded off the meal with a soup of strawberries accompanied by a basil sorbet decorated to look like an apple; and a tartare of peach, pineapple and apple accompanied by a delicate but delicious avocado icecream. Well worth a visit.
